Setting Up your Iberital MC2.
| Remove the grinder body from it's packaging and place on a firm surface. Remove the tinted plastic bean hopper and lid from their box and insert the narrow end of the hopper into the top of the grinder. Place the lid on the hopper.
Plug your Iberital MC2 into a socket located away from moisture. The power switch is on the bottom right hand side of the unit. |
Filling the portafilter.
| The initiation switch is located behind the plastic portafilter forks. With coffee in the hopper push the portafilter between the forks until it activates the switch and then release the pressure on the initiation switch The grinder will stop dispensing coffee automatically once the preset 'throw' time has been reached regardless of whether the initiation switch remains depressed or not. The grinder chute is designed to deliver ground coffee into the filter basket with the minimum of mess. |
Adjusting the grind on your Iberital MC2.
| With coffee beans in the hopper run through a small number of beans and check the size of the coffee grind against your desired results. Adjust the grinder in course adjustments of 3-4 full turn clockwise for a finer grind or anti-clockwise for a courser grind until you approach your required size. Once near your required grind size begin adjusting in stages of 1/2 - 2 turns of the adjuster until satisfied. With a tamp of approx 25 lbs of pressure a 2oz shot of espresso should be achieved in 20-30 seconds, dependent on conditions of the day and personal preference |
Adjusting the timer on the automatic model.
| The timer adjuster is located at the bottom right-hand-side of the grinder body. A clockwise adjustment increases the 'throw' and an anticlockwise adjustment decreases it. The minimum run is around six seconds and the maximum around 12 seconds. The throw rate is approximately 1 gram of coffee per second. |
Ground coffee retention.
| Some coffee is unavoidably retained within the body of the grinder after grinding has finished. Approximately 2 grams of coffee will remain in the body. This may be removed with a brush or vacuum cleaner after use. Should the user elect to leave the ground coffee in place it will be ejected at the start of the next grinding cycle. |
